Preface:
It is funny how dreams work and people obsessed with music may actually share much about the same disturbing dreams, only in slightly different flavor. This one goes to my friend Fred. Trust me... it's all in our heads...

So there I am standing on a stage opening up for a well know guitar hero of renown. I plug in my guitar and start to shred. Of course as it is a bad dream only shit comes out... I am extremely embarassed and try harder but it only gets worse. The crowd though goes wild and yells me to continue playing showing me the |,,| and banging their heads. I think to myself: "These must be lunatics and I must be dreaming... I wanna wake up now".
I fake a technical problem and hurry offstage. Behind the corner leans Yngwie Malmsteen against the wall looking me straight in the eye. He just says... "I hate you, you schmuck!"

Then I wake up.

This is actually an expertly crafted identical copy to a RL blade.

Note the incredibly stupid marketing slogan "viking", this is actually a saxon/burgundian themed sword... the SAX does not bear it's name for nothing. The design predates the viking age by at least 400 years.
Back to the SL blade: it's pretty fast and looks very very good, if you're walking through a themed RP sim you can carry this easily without looking like out for war.

You need to hack your way through a horde of newbies, chopping and tossing limps left and right? This is the sword for you. In the 15th and 16th century flamberge swords were wielded by Landsknecht soldiers s to break up the wall of pikes in front of the massed pike formations of that time. These Doppelsöldner were prepared to fight in the front own line, taking an extra risk, in exchange for double payment.
As for fighting this is a blade to show off but possibly not win in a typical CCS fight. Range is good but cooldown and the sheer mass of dual katana wielding posers drain the fun out of clicking franticaly for minutes only to be blade spammed to death.

Vend's Sword is "an elegant weapon from a more civilised time". Created well before sculpties and when Cola was but a floating pile of black boxes in the skies. It DOES work with CCS as far as I recall.. at least it still did in 2008. I bought this one in April 2006. It features an unfullerd tappered blade, primwise it is nicely built only the textures are revealing it's age. The perfect sword for the anachronistic swashbuckler.

Playing with Chromosomes

Originally I wanted to write up a long essay about Caster Semenya.

But we've got 38° today and at work there simply was too much to do.

So lets just have a few words about 800 meter WC Caster Semenya. From my virtual point of view she and me are much alike. Only that she's girl and I'm boi. But she's sexy. And so am I.
